Construction
The Kahrs three layered board construction
is guaranteed to prevent seperation and minimise movement.
Each layer is bonded with special adhesive and placed under
extreme heat and pressure to produce an unparalled product
within the hardwood flooring industry. Kahrs invented and
patented this process over 50 years ago. |

1). The finish. The multi-layer UV Cured Acrylic Urethane
finish is factory applied. It is ready to be walked on as
soon as the floor is installed. The finish is very easy
to maintain and resists most common staining elements in
testing done over 24 hrs. Kahrs standard finish is Satin
lacquer, some floors are available with a UV cured oil,
a natural oil finish and matt lacquer finish.
2). The
top layer of Kahrs flooring is available in many different
species. This wear-layer can be renovated and sanded several
times and will last for decades. Kahrs offer a 30 year warranty
on the durability of the wear layer on their floors. The
wear layer is approximately 3.6mm thick. |

3).
The middle core of quarter-sawn Pine fingers guarantees
a lifetime of stability and shape retention.
4). A backing layer of Spruce
contributes to the floor's stability. The cross-directional
fibers minimize the movements arising from seasonal change.

The
Kahrs 3.6mm wear layer is comparable in thickness to a 20mm
solid strip floor - since sanding is only possible down
to the tongue and groove of either board.
Designed to withstand the heaviest
furniture without splintering or breaking, Kahrs solid tongue
is the hallmark of quality construction. Each board is milled
with precise diamond tooling to ensure a tight fit.
Kahrs smooth, tight fitting seams and true square boards
are precision milled to exacting standards. There is no
overwood with Kahrs flooring - so there's no need for beveling,
and no dirt in the seams.
