So
simple, so easy...even for a beginner
1). Begin in a corner
and lay from the left. It is usual for the "long tongue"
on the board to face into the room. Position plastic wedges
between the floor and the wall to maintain an expansion
gap. These wedges are removed when the floor is fully laid.
A practical advantage with Woodloc is the gap between the
long sides and the wall can be adjusted later, when two
or three rows have been laid. |
|
|
|
2). Position the next boards end Woodloc joint at an angle
of approximately 35 degrees into the first boards end joint
and then allow the board to lay on the floor. The joint
will automatically lock into place, ensure that the second
board is in a perfect straight line with the first board,
if it is not then lift the second board slightly and reposition.
Place plastic wedges between the board and the wall to maintain
the expansion gap. Repeat this down the length of the room
and cut the last board in the first row to the correct length,
and start the next row with the offcut that is left over. |
|
|
| 3).
Press the offcut board that you are using to start the next
row with at an angle to the board in front. Push the board
forwards, simultaneously pressing it down gradually onto
the floor. Position a wedge between the wall and the board
to maintain the expansion gap. Using a Kahrs Woodloc tapping
block (pic. 5), knock the joint into position along the
full length of the new board. |
|
|
| 4).
Push a Kahrs Woodloc laying wedge under the end of the previously
laid board. Press the end of the next board in at an angle,
and lay it flat as in step 1. |
|
|
| 5).
Using a Kahrs tapping block, tap in the board ’s long
edge carefully until it fits snugly. Complete and detailed
fitting instructions are included in the flooring packs
when you order a Kahrs floor. |
